Astronomy on the Mall, June 14, 2013

Checking out the sun, solar flares, sunspots, really cool.

Looking at Saturn and it's ring.

Making imitation comets with dry ice with an astrophysicist from John Hopkins who worked on the Deep Impact program, which I never knew was real. Did you know that in 2005 we smashed a spaceship into a moving asteroid and then did a flyby with a second space ship to examine the results? I didn't!

 Hanging out near the activity.

Chilling near the Washington Monument.
